About Frank Masotti

I’m Frank Masotti, the independent analyst behind AI Visibility Audit and Report.
When you pay someone to investigate how ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini understand your business, you want to know who’s doing the work, what experience they bring, and whether you can trust their conclusions.
My experience comes from years of building websites, experimenting with large language models, and studying how AI systems interpret information about businesses.
That work changed how I approach AI visibility.
I believe you should understand what AI platforms actually know about your business before deciding what, if anything, needs to change.
That’s the principle behind the audits I conduct today.
An Experiment Involving More Than 3,000 Businesses
One of my most ambitious projects was Generative Search Visibility (GSV).
Working collaboratively with ChatGPT, I developed an experimental website containing more than 3,000 fictional businesses.
They weren’t clients, real companies, or commercial listings. Each was created specifically to investigate how AI systems identify and understand business information.
The website used PHP pages, business descriptions, and structured data known as schema markup.
We weren’t trying to sell anything, attract backlinks, or compete for traditional search rankings. The project was designed to investigate a different question:
What information helps an AI system understand what a business is, what it does, and how its details fit together?
The experiment focused on how business information and schema could help AI systems identify businesses and understand the relationships between their details.
That work influenced the questions I ask today when investigating a real business.
A company may publish accurate information about its products, services, and customers. But the existence of that information doesn’t establish how an AI platform interprets it.
To find that out, you have to examine the platform’s responses.
Why I Changed My Approach to AI Visibility
The GSV experiment was one part of a larger effort to understand how businesses are represented within AI systems.
Other projects included Business Visibility Group and Masotti AI. I also experimented with content, structured data, citations, and ways of connecting business information. I referred to the combination of those techniques as the Blended Dominance Method.
Much of that early work explored how businesses might improve their visibility and representation in AI generated responses.
Over time, I began questioning the starting point.
How can you recommend changes to a business’s AI visibility before establishing what the AI platforms already understand?
Consider the possibilities.
ChatGPT might describe your services accurately while Gemini overlooks an important part of your business. Claude might recognize a distinction between you and a competitor that another platform misses.
Or all three platforms might understand your business reasonably well.
Those are different findings, and they shouldn’t automatically lead to the same recommendations.
I decided that investigating the existing understanding was more useful than beginning with assumptions about what needed fixing.
That decision became the foundation of my current work.
From Five AI Models to a Focused Investigation
My earlier AI Interpretation Analysis Report examined five large language models.
After evaluating the information those investigations produced, I concluded that the additional models weren’t contributing enough useful insight to justify keeping them in the process.
I narrowed the investigation to ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini.
Today, I use a consistent set of diagnostic questions to examine how those three platforms understand a business.
The investigation covers business identity, products and services, customers, distinguishing characteristics, and how the business is understood in potential recommendation situations.
I evaluate the findings across seven scoring dimensions and examine where the platforms agree, disagree, or leave out important information.
Using the same questions across the platforms provides a more consistent basis for interpreting the results than relying on an isolated AI response.
For a competitive audit, I investigate your business and a competitor you name using the same process. I then prepare a separate comparison of the findings.
The goal is to give you evidence you can use to understand your position, rather than guesses about how AI might represent your business.
I Personally Conduct Every Investigation
AI Visibility Audit and Report isn’t an automated audit platform.
I personally conduct the investigations, examine the responses, evaluate the findings, and write the reports.
Each AI platform is also asked to recommend actions based on its own responses. I present those recommendations separately from my independent analysis.
That distinction matters.
An AI platform can suggest what a business should do, but you deserve to know whether a recommendation came from the model or from the person evaluating the evidence.
I also have no implementation service to sell you afterward.
I don’t offer website changes, AI visibility optimization packages, or ongoing monitoring retainers through this business.
My responsibility is to investigate your business and report what I find, not to create a reason to sell you more work.
If an AI platform understands your business accurately, I’ll say so. If it gets something wrong, overlooks important information, or differs from the other platforms, I’ll document that too.
You receive the findings, their interpretation, and recommendations to help you decide what deserves attention.
Know What AI Platforms Understand Before You Act
Maybe you’ve seen a competitor appear in an AI recommendation and wondered why your business wasn’t mentioned.
Maybe you’re concerned that AI platforms are describing your services incorrectly.
Or perhaps you simply want to know whether the information those platforms provide about your business is accurate and complete.
I won’t assume there’s a problem before investigating.
My work is to examine the evidence, explain what it means, and give you a clearer understanding of how ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini currently represent your business.
That’s where my years of experimentation have led: independent investigations that put findings before recommendations.
